This policy explains how Kite Messenger ("we", "us") handles your information when you use the Kite Messenger app and website. Kite Messenger is operated by Viraat Engineering, Ajmer, Rajasthan, India. Contact: meradhan.ltd@gmail.com.
1. Information we collect
- Account information — your name, mobile number, email address, username and profile photo.
- Messages and content — messages, photos, videos, voice notes and files you send. These travel over encrypted connections (TLS) and are stored on our servers so they can be delivered and synced. They are not end-to-end encrypted.
- Contacts (optional) — if you allow it, we check which of your contacts use Kite Messenger. Your address book is not uploaded; only secure hashes of phone numbers are matched.
- Calls — voice and video calls are carried by Agora. We keep call metadata such as participants, time and duration, not call audio or video.
- Device and activity information — device model, OS version, app version, push notification token, IP address and basic usage and crash information.
- Creator payment details — if you join the creator program and become eligible for payouts, the payout details you provide (for example a PayPal or UPI ID) and earnings records.
- Advertising identifiers — Google AdMob may use your device's advertising ID to show and measure ads. You can reset or limit it in your device settings.
2. How we use information
- To provide the service: create your account, deliver messages and calls, and sync your chats.
- To run the creator program, calculate earnings and send payouts.
- To keep Kite Messenger safe: prevent spam, fraud and abuse, and enforce our Terms.
- To fix problems and improve the app.
We do not sell your personal information.
3. How information is shared
- Service providers who help us run Kite Messenger: Google Firebase (accounts, database, notifications), Hostinger (servers and media storage), Agora (calls), PayPal (payouts), Cloudflare (network security) and Google AdMob (ads).
- Other users — content you send or post is visible to the people in that chat, group or channel. Your profile name, photo and username are visible to others.
- Authorities — when required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users and the public.
4. Data retention
We keep your account data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except where we must keep it longer by law. Financial and payout records are kept for up to 8 years as required by Indian tax law.
5. Your rights and choices
- View and edit your profile in the app at any time.
- Delete messages and content you have sent.
- Delete your account in the app under Settings → Delete account, or see how to delete your account.
- Turn contacts, camera, microphone, photos and notification permissions on or off in your device settings.

6. Security
We use encrypted connections, access controls and monitoring to protect your information. No system is completely secure, so please keep your phone and account protected.
7. Children
You must be at least 13 years old to use Kite Messenger. If you are under 18, you need the consent of a parent or guardian.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. We will post the new version on this page and update the effective date, and tell you in the app about important changes.
